In conjunction with the school’s efforts to celebrate our children’s achievements amidst the COVID19 pandemic and to give back to the society, Hampton Pre-School held our second online exhibition this year to raise funds to help the intellectually disabled residents of Bishan Home. The theme for the exhibition is ‘Diversity Through Creativity’ and the children presented their artworks through the inspiration of twelve great artists. Parents, family and friends were invited to our Annual Exhibition2021 Facebook page to bid for the children’s artworks. The live auction took place on 21st August 2021 from 10am to 2pm.
Prior to the exhibition, the teachers introduced to the children the artists and the various art techniques such as sculpting, paper quilling, mosaic arts and many more. Children were invited to start planning on what kind of artworks they would like to create individually, as a group and as a class! There were challenges faced throughout the process but children persevered through and completed their art pieces. All the art pieces were up for auction on the Facebook page.
On the live auction day, the school was heartened by the presence of many parents, family and friends as they supported the teachers’ live auction and bidded for the children’s artworks. They donated generously for a good cause. Indeed, it was a successful fund-rising event as the school community raised more than $10 000 specially for Bishan Home for The Intellectually Disabled!
