Young Master Builders : K2's Trip to the Singapore Science Centre

The children got a chance to explore the Thinkering Studio at the Singapore Science Centre while waiting for a workshop session.

Our Kindergarten 2 children visited the Singapore Science Centre in June, to learn more about the properties of various materials for their Young Master Builders project. They also had the opportunity to explore the various exhibits at the Science Centre.

The excited children upon arrival at the Science Centre!

The children managed to try out various science activities and expressed their curiousity with questions posed to their teachers and friends!

Some children braved through the Scary House!

After walking through and trying out the interesting exhibitions, the children made their way to the science lab for a workshop!

The children acted out as the Big Bad Wolf and tried to blow off the roof of the houses made of different materials, by tapping the sides of a box with a hole to produce wind.

They also did a simple experiment to find out which materials are waterproof and are suitable to be made into a roof of a house.

They also did some pasting activity where different textured materials were pasted over a picture of the Big Bad Wolf, such as sandpaper, cotton wool and stones.

Let’s take a look at a short clip of the fun-filled trip!
