K1 Saving Trees Campaign

In cooperation with Start Small Dream Big, an initiative of ECDA, Sunflower at Punggol Field Walk engaged Kindergarten One too gain and share awareness the importance of trees. Trees are essential to all living things in the planet. Trees have important roles in the biodiversity, they give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilize the soil and give life to the world’s wildlife. They also provide us with the materials for tools and shelter. Trees provide diverse habitats for plants and animals, which are the basis of goods and services. Therefore, to achieve sustainability of resources, trees needs to be protected and preserved. In this project, K1 children explored and learned the importance of trees in our daily living. They investigated the ways that they can do and contribute to save trees.

With all the learnings about the importance of trees, the children had decided to launch their Saving Trees Campaign in connection to Start Small Dream Big Project initiated by ECDA. Together with their teachers and parents, children walked to the Punggol Community with their posters “Saving Trees”. They chanted and performed song and dance that conveys the message of protecting trees in the environment.
