Intergenerational Activity at All Saints Home Jurong

Our K2 children visited All Saints Home for the second time and we played a game of picture bingo. The children really went to the elderly up close, looked them in the eyes and try to converse with them.

A granny asked a girl to translate what the caregiver said in English to Mandarin for her and she translated the whole chunk of instructions to the elderly.

A girl went up to a grandpa and sang a song to him after introducing herself.

During the game of Bingo, the children looked for matching pictures together with the elderly and struck off the picture from the paper.

After they completed, they were given stickers rewards and the children shared their sticker rewards with the elderly which they happily pasted on their shirts.

The children performed a sing-along song for the elderly before bading them goodbye. Some even said they wanted to stay on.

The children shown improvement from the last visit as seen from the constant interactions with the elderly and they were not as inhabited compared to their first visit.

Some were heard asking, “When will we come again?” Even after SSDB project has officially ended in September, we will still be visiting the old folks home every month.
