Previously, before our field trip to West Coast Park, the children suggested making signages beforehand so that they can walk around with them on the actual day to raise awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. However, it was raining heavily on that day. Even though they were unable to go around to spread the message of helping to save the Earth, they did not forget about it. They continued to remind each other of paper wastage and are now more mindful of the materials they use in class.
On 8 August 2019, the class finally had a chance to go around to the nearby offices to spread these messages and invited some of them to make a pledge by writing down ways in which they can help to protect the environment.
As what Mother Theresa says, “Do small things with great love.” Even though our efforts might seem small and trivial, what’s most important is our heart in doing it.
