We started off Term 3 with the theme entitled ‘Clothing Makes a Man’. The K1 class learnt topics such as ‘clothes from many cultures’, prints and textiles, different kinds of fabrics and parts of clothings.
We played dressing up using the different ethnic clothes on display.
In one of the lesson, we designed prints on drawing papers using pieces of carved carrot and paints. We explored with different patterns and colours.
In another craft lesson, parents donated some old t-shirts for their child to create a bag. The children chose the t-shirt that they want, before cutting the bottom of the t-shirts into strips.
We tied up these strips in alternate pattern. Once completed, we turned the t-shirt inside out.
This was the part we enjoyed the most! Using our creativity, we decorated our bags using markers and squiggle paints.
