Bright Juniors’ SSDB Launch Party. Dine in the dark; more than just a meal, it’s a journey of the sense.

Last 15th of April, the Kindergarten 1 and 2 of Bright Juniors at Jurong East launched the 2019 Start Small Dream Big Project that aims to raise funds for people with disabilities with the theme “Nothing is Impossible, Let’s not dis one’s Ability”.

The parents and guest were welcomed by a mini picture display that showed how the children unboxed the SSDB materials that they’ll be using for the project. There were various insightful portraits around the centre as well that enable parents to have a better understanding about people and children with disabilities.

Along with it, educators and children prepared an exciting activity for the parents. It was an evening where they can understand and have the empathy towards people with disabilities and to sincerely cater to their needs in all aspects (emotionally, financially, mentally, socially). Age doesn’t matter as long as you have the heart and mind to lend a helping hand. They strongly believe that “No one can do everything but everyone can do something”.

A simple Egg Mayo Croissant making was the highlight of the event. Parents were blindfolded while the children were asked to wear face mask. With the use of the senses that they only have, they helped each other one step at a time.

Smiles and laughter filled the entire centre as parents shared their experience regarding about the event.

“It’s something new for us. ”

“What a heart-warming and memorable night!”

These were some of the feedbacks given by the parents. The launch party was a kick start to build awareness and understanding of people with disabilities. With this, as a community, we can do our part even in small ways to create inclusivity in our society. Join our K1 and K2 students in their journey and advocacy. #SSDB2019
