Bloom @ Smartcubs

This project was started due to the interest of our Junior Kinders in plants. Ever since April, the children in the class had been bringing seeds, fruits and leaves into class to share with their friends. They were interested in knowing how the different seeds will look like after germination. Hence, in July, we started a garden with some of the seeds (Kang Kong, Lady’s Finger, Chilli and Potato).

The children took turns to be the gardener of the day, talking to the plants and making sure they receive enough water and sunlight. The children tracked the growth of the potato plant through picture records and unifix cubes.

Even though some of the plants withered and did not produce fruits and flowers, the children understood that sometimes, things might not go as planned even when one puts in effort in doing it. However, we should never give up and continue to do our best in everything.
