PCF Yew Tee Blk 682 adopts an integrated curriculum. Their activities are not restricted; it is dependent on the teacher to decide what is beneficial for the children. This centre also collaborates with several organizations to bring in the professionals to guide the children on certain topics. PCF Yew Tee Blk 682 uses recycled materials for their interior decoration and art works. They hope to promote recycling and increase awareness about the environment. Despite using recycle materials to decorate their classes, their classes are still colourful and attractive with a dash of uniqueness as those decorations cannot be found outside.
PCF Yew Tee Blk 682 collaborates with Unity Primary School for a bridging program. This allows the K2 to experience how primary school life is like. The K2 children are able to experience several Primary 1 classes and be prepared for primary school life.
Stay Healthy Eat Healthy-PCF Yew Tee Blk 682 encourages and ensure that the children get enourage exercise through their motor skill developement lessons on every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Mass workout happens before their lesson starts on every Friday.
Buddy Day which falls on every Friday is special as the children take a break from the usual English, Math and Mother Tongue classes. Instead, they are able to do “culture awarenesst” and Character Education which based on school core values as well as MOE- Nurturing Disposition (PRAISE) .
“Buddy day” is where they will arrange for the older children to pair up with the younger ones to guide them through activities. This is where children get to help and care for one another, share and contribute ideas, compromise and work co-operatively. The children get to see and do different activities based on the theme such as character education, values and environment. They get to make art pieces or videos based on what they learn from the lesson.
And lastly, fruit days which fall on every Tuesday and Friday promote healthy lifestyle whereby children get to bring their fruit to school for their snack only.
Other than the activities listed above, the school also promotes the use of children’ 5 senses. The children have show and tell to help build up their confident and self-esteem.
PCF Yew Tee Blk 682 collaborates with the community like the National Library Board, Health Promotion Board and N Park to re-enforce children's learning. For example, the NLB loan about 500 books per term to the kindergarden so that the children can loan books home to read with their parents over the weekend. Health Promtion Board will conduct yearly eyes screen for the K1 and K2 children while Oral talk only focus on the K1 children.
