Start Small Dream Big-Upcycling Launching Event

At Carpe Diem Little Green House, we aspire to instil in our students good values such as care for others, humility, kindness and compassion, and to be responsible citizens when they grow up. That is why we have embarked on the “Start Small Dream Big” initiative. Started by the Early Childhood Development Agency( ECDA) since 2015, the program encourages young children to use their and creativity to give back to society.

Our Kindergarten One parents assisted in our preparation by collecting and contributing the recycled materials. The “Start Small Dream Big” was officially kickstarted on 13 April, with parents witnessing the opening event. The parents and the students then created beautiful photo frames using the recycled materials of egg carton and cardboard. To further the “Start Small Dream Big” initiative, every student will be doing an upcycling project with their parents at home, using recycled plastic bottles to create products such as pencil or candle holders, handling fences, and any useful products. There is no limit creativity.

At the same time, the students will also be making necklaces and bracelets using recycled magazines in the school. The individualized necklaces and bracelets will be put up for sale at our upcoming family day in June, and will represent our students’ first entrepreneur experience. All the proceeds raises will donated to the President’s Challenge and giving an helping hand for people in need.
