Neighbourhood Cleaning

Children continued to bring in recycled materials from home to school. They dropped them into the respective boxes for recycling. When the boxes are full, the recycled materials were packed and taken out by the K2’s children during their outdoor day on Friday and put into the recycle bins outside the school.

This activity will be on-going for the K1 and K2’s children in the Kindergarten.

Neighbourhood Cleaning

Children are grouped in two’s with disposable gloves, plastic tongs and plastic bags. After briefing from their teacher about the items they are going to pick for recycling, the children set out from the school to the neighbouring blocks 914, 913, 912 and the communal hall. They picked up newspapers, cigarette boxes, plastic pegs, bottles, etc. They have a better understanding of recyclable materials. Finally, they tied up the plastic bags with the items they have picked and dropped them into the recycle bins.

It was a valuable lesson for the children and they looked forward to the next activity.
