Little Entrepreneur Project
Kinderland Educare Services Pte Ltd and Lions Befrienders built a meaningful partnership in 2018’s Start Small, Dream Big President’s Challenge. The amount raised through the Little Entrepreneur Programme went towards enhancing programmes and services to enable seniors at Lions Befrienders to enjoy meaningful and enriching lives.
Aimed at nurturing entrepreneurism and instilling positive dispositions such as perseverance, reflectiveness, appreciation, and engagement, the Little Entrepreneur Project also nurtured social competence in children through interactions.
Before the sale day, the children had to brainstorm on the ideal product that they wanted to sell and made necessary preparations such as designing posters and signages, decorating a banner, packing their products, and role-playing transaction scenarios. They reviewed the concepts of addition and subtraction and marketed their stalls by generating interest and support from their parents and friends.
On the actual day of the sale, children handled transactions by engaging in polite interactions with their customers. They also learnt how to entice customers to come and patronize their stall.
