Experiencing Lip Reading and Sign Language!

At the end of our collaborative learning experience with Ms G as she shared about her life journey with her hearing impairment, our K2 Little Innovators found themselves in an enthusiastic reflection on her initial struggles. The children were caught in great interest on the idea of Lip Reading and Sign Language. They started asking questions such as “how difficult is it to lip read?”, “what is the sign language for cat?” and “how to do sign language?”.

In creating an immersive learning for them, they had the opportunity to experience it by mouthing out words and phrases without speaking the words and learning sign language of the alphabet. They even managed to spell out simple words of their choice using just the sign language!

Most importantly, our K2 Little Innovators were able to make significant connections with one another as well as people with these amazing unique abilities.
