Back to the Good Old Days - Harvesting what we have learnt

As a wrap up in our “trip” back to the good old days, our children were engaged in various activities! Our infants participated in a collaborative artwork by using the bottom of the vegetable, “bok choy” to dip in paint and painted on a big piece of paper. Our infant children had fun poking the bok choy with the chopstick and seeing the prints that they created. Our Playgroup children learnt about water conservation, effective handwashing techniques as well as creating our own Soap Bubbles!

Our Pre-Nursery children created their very own paper tea cups that they could use in future ‘Masak Masak’ role play session. They used paint sticks to create prints on the paper cup and paper plate.

As for our Nursery children, they discovered many old school games and had lots of fun playing them over the month. As a closure, they decided to make their own toy using a shoebox and other recycled materials. They worked collaboratively to create something they like and realised how without having to spend money, they could also have fun toys to play with, what more handmade!

At the end of the exploratory activities, our Kindergarten 1 children consolidated their learning by participating in a collaborative project and put all their artworks together. They also recounted what they had learned and shared the special characteristics of architecture and houses in Singapore.

Samsui Women Challenge was what our Kindergarten 2 children decided to participate in as a wrap up of what they had done throughout the June holiday. They had to use objects to build a highest tower / structure. Just like in the past, these women were tough and strong digging soil and carrying bricks from one place to another.
