Ambassadors of the Water Saving Exercise

In conjunction of Singapore World Water Day (SWWD) and SSDB, children were given the opportunity to express their opinions and experiences about water saving. In addition, they shared about the importance of water, how to save water and why we need to do so through presentation by teachers.

We invited one of our PSG from India, sharing how water is precious in her country to the children. They gained different perspective comparing the use of water in Singapore and in India.

The combination of the action and the words from the children are a powerful tool. They are the future generation and our hope to make things work and to carry on the legacy from the past millennium (1960s) in Singapore. Therefore, we are proud to present to the world, the ambassadors of water saving from PCF Sparkletots Blk 543! Putting on the orange bucket hat…..Off we go!

Children from infant to K2, accompanied by teachers and PSG members, went door to door around the neighbourhood within the school compound, distributing pamphlets and conveying the important message: Please Save Water! Every Drop Counts! They greeted the neighbours, talked to them and explained that today is world water day.

The neighbours were very happy and friendly. The teachers and children enjoyed the walk, the fresh air and the breeze. They also passed the pamphlets to the passerby.

The children were excited and thrilled throughout the entire pamphlet-distribution movement. Teachers gathered children’s responses from their reflection.

“I felt happy when the auntie opened the door when we knocked.”

“The auntie opened the gate inviting us to go in the house.”

“I shake hands with uncle.”

“The uncle take selfie with us.”

“I tell auntie Please Save Water.”

“So tired…”

Teachers observed the active participation from the children and their level of engagement was very high. All of them were eager to distribute the pamphlets altogether to each particular house/ person.

It was a fulfilling and wonderful experience, though exhausted, for the children, the teachers and the PSG members.

Mission accomplished because of perseverance and teamwork!

Till next mission!
