Activity 4: Outdoor Learning using Recyclables

In an effort to promote sustainability and minimize waste, we utilized the recyclables we gathered to create innovative solutions for our outdoor play area. Recognizing the need for additional spades to accommodate our growing number of children, we decided to embark on a creative upcycling project. We repurposed plastic milk jugs and plastic bottles and transformed them into a fantastic play tools for our sand and water play.

The upcycled spades and watering bottles not only serve as a practical solution for our needs, but it also embodies the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle. The children are now able to engage in their play while simultaneously learning the importance of environmental stewardship and resourcefulness.

The children also had the opportunity to use recyclables they collected during snack time to be used during outdoor play. By encouraging the reuse of materials and sparking their imaginations, we aim to instill in our children a sense of responsibility towards our planet.

Through this simple act of repurposing, we hope to inspire them to think creatively and find sustainable solutions in their own lives, thus contributing to a greener future.
